Position Title Sr. Collateral Management Specialist

Location Headquarters-Troy, MI

Job Summary Flagstar Bank is seeking an individual to join our Special Loans Team as a Collateral Management Specialist. The Collateral Management area manages the release of collateral for assumptions, subordinations, easements, partial releases, land swaps, Mylars, Oil & Gas Mineral right, condo amendments along with property adds and legal eminent domains. Tasks include ensuring all required documentation is available to properly release or adjust the collateral based on Regulatory, State and Investor Requirements.

This position will communicate with borrowers, business units and vendors to resolve or support issues presented internally or externally via department email boxes, sales force cases along with tasks. Also responsible for property changes for all sub servicers and FSB clients from communicating, creating along with updating and processing required and compliant documentation in accordance with investor, state and federal guidelines including verification of all file maintenance.

Candidate must display a positive attitude and rise to the department's expectations to meet the growing demand of the day to day operations. It is essential to follow management's guidelines by updating the appropriate systems, accomplishing department goals, executing policies and procedures to ensure agency guidelines and compliance requirements are met without posing a risk to the bank. Candidate should show initiative, be willing to interact with external and internal customers and have a passion for learning while working in a fast paced environment.

Job Responsibilities: Review's requests for partial release's, assumptions, subordinations, easements along with additional collateral release asks for compliance with State, Investor and Regulatory requirements Engage with clients, along with internal and external business partners to communicate on the progress of the property change in an effective and timely manner. Complete all required documentation for property changes while maintaining regulatory and investor compliance. Responsible for participating in divisional cross training on all job functions along with participating in special projects while looking for process improvements. Responsible for ensuring exceptions are researched and resolved within the time frame set by the department guidelines. Ability to take responsibility for Auditing and Quality Control Testing.

Job Requirements: HS Diploma, GED or Foreign Equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred Specialized Training: Black Knight Mortgage Servicing Platform Preferred 5 years mortgage servicing, banking or equivalent work experience required, including some experience with collateral documents. Applicant must have strong working knowledge of all investor guidelines (FNMA, Freddie Mac, GNMA), along with RHS, FHA, VA requirements regarding changes to collateral securitizing the loan. Proven experience in researching/analyzing collateral documents in addition to title policies. Applicant must have working knowledge of the requirements regarding title policies, appraisals, surveys, recorded security instruments, underwriting summaries in addition to legal descriptions. Proven ability to highest level of customer service, responsiveness and solid follow through with timely execution Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment, adapt readily to change and move the east from one task to another Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills, along with the ability to train others. Experience in problem solving in a fast paced environment, adapt readily to change and move from one task to another effectively Proven adherence to data integrity and accuracy with strong attention to detail
